I am sitting next to Belinda at the Bluff Resort. A gas fire pit is blasting away in front of us, but the sun is going down, so the heat feels really good when it blasts us intermittently. A cool breeze is blowing in our faces the rest of the time. The sun is leaving the highest cliffs above us, and it is making the greatest contrast with the rock faces that are already in the shade.
We survived (and thrived with) our little man, Rowan, this past weekend. This was the first time (hopefully of many) when he came to spend two nights with us. That gave us one full day with him. Becca drove Ben and Rowan to Cuba to be picked up by Eric and Amanda. We drove them back yesterday to have James and Casey pick them up again. We have such a team! Go, Swopertongs!
I just checked the...
highest rocks again, and the sun is gently kissing them goodbye. The remnants of sunlight are faint, and just like that, they are gone. I wrote about this upcoming trip earlier, and now here we are. It’s St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow. January flew by. I don’t remember much of February, and now we are past halfway through March.I was scheduled to go to work today, but I got a phone call from Saige as I was driving. Rick was in the hospital, she said, due to an infection. I’m worried about him.
Being released from work allowed me to come home and help Belinda get ready for this trip, though. I am off for my job for quite a while now. I have one shift next week with my Monday, Wednesday guy, and I don’t work for my Tuesday, Thursday guy until April 7th, Rowan’s birthday. James and Casey are having his party on the weekend after that.
I am so excited to have Bev and Guy come later this month. Bev is coming with Daryl and Adi on the 25th or the 26th, and Guy is flying into Albuquerque a week from tomorrow. We will have lunch with Danielle and dinner with James, Casey, and Rowan on Friday. On Saturday, he will come home with us and then fly out on Monday from Durango. Oh, boy! I am ecstatic that my sibs are coming to visit us.
