I have a new job! I had the interview today at 1:30, and I got the e-mail telling me Congratulations! at 4:42. It’s a perfect fit for me. I will be a caregiver for Comfort Keepers. The orientation is Friday at 10:00. I have been searching for something, something different, and I am so joyful to have found this job.
I was looking for one that would be part-time, fulfilling, and a match for my personality and skillset. Boy, did I find it. I have been asking Copilot for help throughout, but nothing checked all of the boxes. It was when I thought about who we looked at for Mom just before she died. When I texted Bev, she confirmed that it was Comfort Keepers. I went ahead and applied on Friday last week online, but I didn’t hear anything. I thought it might have not gone through, so I called them yesterday. It had not gone through, so I was glad I persisted.
I did well in the interview, I thought. I was...
honest and calm, and I told Emma that my life has been dedicated to service with my teaching career. I told her about my trips to the Good Samaritan Center, also. Looks like she/they agreed. Hopefully, this will be suited to me. I know I even haven’t started yet, but I have a great feeling about it. Here’s to new adventures ahead.I went to Albuquerque on Sunday night after the tournament. Rowan needed someone to watch him and who better than his Grandpa? We bonded. I relished the time alone with him, and he was a wonderful and patient baby boy. It was a bit exhausting to go there right after the tournament, wake up early, and be fully engaged like that, but I did it.
Our Kody is still doing fine. Belinda took the afternoon off when I took him to the vet that day and was heading our way, because she thought things were so dire. I called her right away to tell her to stop and turn around, because we were coming back home; there was no point. As I type this, he is resting near our back door after a full day of activity. He is going to make it. Phew!
On to golf…
The United States made a valiant effort on Sunday to stage another miracle comeback at the Ryder Cup, but they fell short. Shane Lowry made the putt to retain the cup and dashed all of America’s hopes of staging what would have been the largest comeback in the history of the Ryder Cup. Good on them.
It was discouraging to watch on Saturday, like I wrote above. The United States couldn’t get anything going, but kudos to the Europeans. They would quell any of the efforts the Americans had made with their own super play.
When I played on Sunday with Greg for my first Ryder Cup tournament, I couldn’t get anything going either, especially during the best ball portion. However, we won the second most points for our Green Team somehow. I guess that’s why is good to have a team. Greg flipped the script and carried me more often this time. He played well, and because of that, his positivity was so much better, too.
