B and I came up to the cabin for a couple nights to help out the Edgertons with their new fridge. They couldn’t be here to receive it from the delivery guys from Home Depot. Thankfully, all went well, and it was put into place with ease. It was a bit hard for them, however, due to the ice that has not melted in the driveway.
This was my first time coming back here after all the improvements they have made recently. They have a...
new shower in their master bathroom, new flooring, new texture and paint, and a completely different look with the kitchen wall being taken out. It looks fabulous, and it also looks like our home. They used patterns and colors that were very similar to ours. For example, they liked the bog fog color of paint we have in our kitchen now. Great color, not so great name. In summary, it looks super, and it looks like our home.In other good news, James won an award (it’s a major award! spoken like the father in A Christmas Story) for all of his extra efforts at POMS lately. It’s called the Julie Garcia Spirit Award, and it goes to the person who has displayed outstanding leadership and dedication. I know he has put in a lot of the infrastructure for their clients they needed (he showed me), and he had to take over and recover somebody’s “book” after she left. Throw in Casey having Rowan and it’s been overwhelming for him. It’s wonderful to be recognized for his efforts.
Danielle finished her 15th week. We will attend her family night on New Year’s Eve, and then we will go see her graduate on January 9th…again.
My job has been going wonderfully. I just finished my 18th shift this past week, and I now have a consistent schedule. I feel blessed to be able to do what I do. My only itsy-bitsy complaint is that I have to drive four days to Durango and back for shifts that are not very long. That’s a very small gripe indeed.
On to golf…
I played with Herman (not his real name) on Thursday, my last day of work this past week. I wanted to get out there, because the weather has been fantastic. Unfortunately, we could only play nine holes, since I got off of work at 2:00 in Durango. I checked out sooner than I usually do, put the golf course into the GPS, and it said I would arrive at 3:04 PM. That was just enough time for nine holes in before dark.
To be continued...
