It’s after church, and we have some quiet time before we go to the Edgerton’s to watch football. I don’t really care about the football, but it will be fun to eat and drink together over there.
On to golf…
We played nine holes at Bluffs Country Club for the first time yesterday. Eric came after flying for the Civil Air Patrol, and we both had a fun time. It was great to play in January…sort of. I say “sort of,” because it’s not like real golf, but we did get to swing our clubs and play a game against each other.
I asked Keith to set it up to make it fun and easy. I said we were 18 handicappers, and we set the circle for putting to be eight feet. We played the back nine at a course in Montana called The Reserve at Moonlight Basin, a Jack Nicklaus design, and it was his suggestion because of the 17th hole. If you drive it far enough on this par five, your ball will go downhill and give you a much greater distance.
We barely made it to that hole, and that was the last hole we played. It took longer to play than I though it would. We had many discussions about distances, the kinds of shots we could play, and the undulations in the greens.
More later...
