A HUGE Fantastic Surprise Hidden in This Post

Written on 9-28-24.

Today is Casey’s birthday.  Happy birthday, Casey!

Belinda and I just pulled weeds together.  Our new lawn looks 'jungly.'  We can see the new grass coming in, though, so we have hope.  We have pulled weeds off and on since they started coming up, and we even paid Courtney to come help as well.  She is unemployed right now, so we thought we could employ her temporarily.  She did a super job!  Very hardworking girl.

I leave for Colorado Springs again on Monday, and I am in disbelief that I am going back, but we planned this trip well in advance (before Dad had died).  Bev and Curt are going to Europe, so Guy and I are...

coming to help out with Mom.

Nobody knew that Dad would die in less than two months.  Belinda and I just figured out that I have gone four times since July, and she went three of those times.  That’s a lot of travel, and it is easy to complain.  It has also been a blessing, and I wouldn’t trade any of it.

I get James and Casey’s anniversary wrong in my head most of the time.  I think it’s today, but it’s actually tomorrow.  It was on 10-14-23, but I get it mixed up in my head as October 13th, so it will be their one year anniversary tomorrow.

I am at Lake Powell at Halls Crossing Campground in spot #11.  We used the electric hook-up on #10, because it’s not busy here at all so late in the season.  That was the shorter route for our electrical cord.

We had a wonderful few days here.  The Banashes came along, and it was their first time.  Rachel said she went to Page when she was a little girl, but nobody else in their family had been here before.

Then James, Casey, and Danielle came late Friday night, getting here around 10:00 (it is Casey’s first time, too).  They stayed here for the full day yesterday, and they just left this morning.  Fast trip.

I am just going to summarize what I want to write about, because the Edgertons are getting their pontoon with Belinda right now.  I don’t have much time.

-James and Casey are pregnant!  With a boy!  B and I are grandparents, and I can now write about this fantastic news.

-I shot an 82 with Herman at Pinon Hills, and I matched his two birdies.  It was the best round of the past season!

-I spent a week with Mom while Bev and Curt went to Europe.  We had a beautiful week together.

-Guy came and overlapped with me during the weekend, and we had quality time together, too.

-We played at King’s Deer with Carter and Paul (last name), and I shot my best nine hole score of the season, too.  I shot a 39, and I had one birdie there.

-I blew up on the back nine, scoring a 50, but I managed to win the game against Carter and Guy.  Paul had to leave for an important meeting after hole #8.

-On the day I drove home, Guy followed me to Pueblo to watch Sarah play and to meet Herman and his wife, Cindy (not their real names).  We followed her for six holes before I continued home again.

-Lake Powell was incredible!  We had three days on the water, and yesterday (Saturday) we rented a pontoon boat to make more room for our kids.

I think that will be enough to get caught up.  I had better get some of the things put away before they get back.

Until next time…
